About Roxana
Roxana Balzac Ruiz is a seasoned operator with experience across strategy, operations, and investments, spanning multiple industries and geographies. She works with families on the full range of dynamics that accompany multigenerational wealth — from governance and leadership transitions to investment strategy and organizational transformation.
At Grupo Ferré Rangel, a fourth-generation family-owned conglomerate with a diversified portfolio across media, real estate, and other industries, Roxana served as Director of Corporate Strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO and family principals, she worked alongside the management teams of four portfolio companies and built the firm's corporate impact investment arm, including defining its investment parameters, governance structures, and leading diligence on minority direct investments ranging from clean energy to fintech and biotechnology. She also designed and facilitated a Strategy Academy for the company's rising leaders, establishing tools for navigating complexity, building foresight, and fostering mindful leadership.
Roxana served as Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Regenera Capital, which co-founded Mexico's first institutionally backed rooftop solar financing platform, raising US$76 million from a family-backed U.S. fund and a regional development bank. Earlier in her career, she spent five years in the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, one of the preeminent international law firms in Latin America, where she led business development across the region, working directly with 16 partners.
She currently serves on the board of a family-owned business operating in the organic waste sector and on the advisory board of a certified B Corp focused on eliminating single-use plastics across businesses and communities.
Roxana graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University. She has pursued further education in regenerative economics through the Capital Institute and holds a certificate in circular economy from UC Berkeley Extension. A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Roxana is also an avid long-distance cyclist, reader, and traveler — pursuits that reflect the same curiosity and range that define her professional life.
